Industry certification exams are difficult exams, and many students do not pass on their first attempt. To help student success rates, we encourage all students to study several hours/week on top of their courses, and take advantage of CIAT’s complimentary support and unlimited number of exam vouchers.

How does the unlimited certification exam policy work, is it really unlimited?

YES! It's truly unlimited. You receive your first exam voucher on Day 4 of the bootcamp to ensure you're properly prepared. If you don't pass on your first attempt, you'll need to complete 2 practice exams at 90% or higher to demonstrate readiness before receiving your next voucher. After 2 failed attempts, you will be offered the opportunity to retake the entire bootcamp instruction at no cost to strengthen your confidence and receive extra support.
What if I don't pass the certification exam on my first attempt?

You can retake the exam as many times as needed until you pass! After your first failed attempt, you'll need to complete 2 practice exams scoring 90% or higher - this helps identify knowledge gaps and ensures you're better prepared for your next attempt. We support you throughout with additional practice materials, and unlimited exam vouchers at no extra cost. Our goal is your success.
What refund do I get if I cancel my course?

Refunds are calculated based on how much instruction you've received: 

Cancel by the end of Day 1 (8 hours or 20% of the course) = 80% refund. 
Cancel by the end of Day 2 (16 hours or 40% of the course) = 60% refund. 
Cancel by the end of Day 3 (24 hours or 60% of the course) = 40% refund. 
Cancel after Day 3 (more than 60% completed) = no refund available.
Can I combine bootcamp certifications with a degree program at CIAT?

Yes. You can turn your bootcamp certification achievements into transfer credits that apply toward any CIAT certificate or degree program. This allows you to seamlessly transition from bootcamp training to full academic programs while maximizing the value of your learning investment. Academic advisors are available to guide you in integrating your certifications into your personalized degree plan.
What are the hours for the IT certification bootcamps?

Bootcamps run from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST (with a 1-hour break), which is 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM EST.

Do I need prior IT experience to join a bootcamp?

CompTIA  A+: No formal prerequisites are required, making this perfect for career changers and IT beginners. However, basic computer literacy (using Windows, browsing the internet, and installing software) and strong motivation to learn are recommended for success in our fast-paced program.

CompTIA Network+: We recommend having CompTIA A+ certification and/or 9-12 months of hands-on experience in networking or technical support. Basic understanding of networking concepts, familiarity with Windows/Linux command line, and strong motivation to learn advanced networking technologies are essential for success in our fast-paced program. 

CompTIA Security+: There are no formal prerequisites, but we strongly recommend foundational IT knowledge before enrolling. This foundational knowledge can be gained through the CompTIA A+ or Network+ certifications, or similar industry experience.
